The LeBron Controversy
Wow!
I’ve sure heard a lot of talk about how LeBron did the wrong thing.
Well my friends I believe that it would have been nice if LeBron would have said congrats to the Orlando Magic. But he didn’t and for me that’s not a big deal. What did he do wrong? Not talk to the press ? Many times you don’t want to. But we expect our heroes to not be human. Sorry. ! Not !
LeBron has been the number 1 citizen in all of professional sports. For quite sometime and he’s only 24. I wish I had a son that was such a fine example of being a wonderful person.
I will step out and say that -maybe- only Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera have been as good. We all have flaws last I heard.
Sometimes our Heros are human. I believe that LeBron has been at the very top as a role model and wish that all of our heroes would live up to his “we” and “caring” attitude. He’s right up there with Tiger, Brady, Vette, Derek, Serena, Venus and a few others I may have left out, that maintain the impossible images and role models we hold them to. They all are doing a wonderful job of projecting the class and images that we hope for our youth to look up to.
I’m disappointed when the public expects something that is impossible to return. I think I would have some understanding of what I’m saying.
Keep up the great comments Jim.
You get my attention.

Great post, Mr. Jackson. Although I too did not agree with LeBron’s actions after losing to the Magic, it is something that does occassionally occur.
I am not certain if anyone remembers Isiah Thomas and the rest of his Piston teammates walking off the court when they were defeated by Michael Jordan and the Bulls in the Playoffs, refusing to shake any Bulls players’ hands.
Sometimes, in the most heated moments of competition, athletes are bound to let their emotions and competitive nature get the better of them.
I hope every athlete, professional or amateur, uses this as an example to try and display good sportsmanship, win or lose.
Hope you found the envelopes my grandma and mom sent, Mr. Jackson.
Take care and God Bless.

I agree with reggie. Whats the big deal….The guy is an athlete that took the series personal…..You love to root for a guy like that…..Hey, who says he has to talk to the media…..The media tries to be too much a part of the game anyway……sure Lebron made a mistake but so what….who hasn’t?
He is a class athlete who gives his all…thats good enough for me and some

When we stop holding pro athletes, celebrities, the President, Reggie Jackson, and anyone else who is under media scrutiny, to a higher standard with regard to their public behavior, there will be no disappointment or surprise when they behave as the imperfect humans they are. If I had to venture a guess, no one at this moment is being harder on LeBron than LeBron. He is entitled to be frustrated, upset, whatever, at the loss to Orlando, and he is certainly entitled to not speak to the media. No one knows for certain how/what he was feeling inside. Okay, so he didn’t set the best example of being a good sport. Right or wrong, he can’t go back and do it over, so he’ll learn from this experience and move on. Just like all (or at least, most) of us do.

If it’s not a Yankee, it seems like Reggie has ideas and possible solutions with what is wrong in today’s sporting world and its athletes. MMMMM– I wonder why that is ??

Hi, Mark. I believe the book you are referring to is Jonathan Livingston Seagal.
I believe that is the correct spelling. I’ve heard that is a very good novel.
Take care.

hey guys I’ve been in St Louis for the All Star Game Sun Mon for the Derby and left there Tues am to come to NY. I needed to do some promotion for the Yanks and The Steiner Sports group ,,,,Steinersports.com to help with awareness for the sale of the last memories of the Old Yankee Stadium. I purchased my locker, some outfield seats. as well as the Yankee Stadium Letters that say Yankee Stadium they are really kool. ? I may offer my locker for display as well as the Original Yankee Stadium Letters that are still on top of the Stadium. They have original seats, which i’ve purchased, bleacher benches, dugout phones, original signs and more. I wanted to have some of the original stadium stuff to remind me of the good ole days for my personal memories.
they’re selling Stadium grass, dirt, oirginal stadium bricks and lots more.
very kool check it out…

can’t play I’ve still got issues with my back since the accident I had in Tampa March 5th 2005. When I was rear ended by a Ford Exibition traveling over 100 mph. State Farm was and is the Insurer for the guy that hit me and the insurer for me also. After jerking me around about a settlement for 2 years they said to me to sue them.
After another year I called and they said they would get an attorney on my case to get it handled. He’s spent all of his time trying to minimize my injuries and is doing his best to say that my issues because of the accident are due to old age, not because i was hit by an Exhibition doing over 100 mph. Nice to be treated like a “Good Neighbor” eh!!!
